The Birth of Dylan

October 20, 2015  •  Leave a Comment

Generally I do slideshows for births, but Dylan sure made a quick entrance into this world, so a blog post seemed more appropriate. Welcome to the world sweet little one.

My phone rang at 6:00AM on the dot. What a perfect time to head to The Bozeman Birth Center, which happens to be just a few houses away from me. For a Monday (or any day) it just could not have started better.

Generally labor takes some time, and it was clear that when Kim and Jessie pulled into the parking lot that things (Mr. Dylan) were well on their way.

Within minutes, Kim went from the bed, heading to the bathroom, and onto the floor... yet she did it, with Jessie right by her side.

Sometimes you want to hide from labor, as it is not the most pleasant thing.

But then, just as you think you can go no further, you do...

And with loving support and one more burst of pain, she did it!

I am pretty sure Mama and Daddy were just as surprised as their Midwife!

Welcome to the world sweet little brother...

And... their doula and the nurse made it ... just a little late!

Getting a quick check from the nurse before getting to rest ... meeting big brother was on the priority list!

Grammy and Big Brother just could not wait to meet little Dylan!

A quick bath before heading home...

It is always so special to be a part of something so intimate. I am so thankful to have been a part of this new life, Dylan is special, he wanted to come into this world early, and fast. I am blessed to be able to have caught it. 13 Minutes from birth suite to Mama's arms. 13 Minutes. That is fast!

Kim and Jessie,

Enjoy this sweet boy as you know, just like his arrival, they grow up so fast!

You did great - Rest well!

Huge Congratulations!

Mikaela
